Visa: MVV and VVR arranged within 10 days
A non-European Union au pair needs a visa to be able to stay in the Netherlands for a year. First a MVV (authorization of temporary stay) is solicited to get the au pair in the Netherlands. Once the candidate has arrived, the VVR (residence permit) is then solicited.
On November the 10th of 2009, Smiling Faces became a covenant holder of the IND. Covenant holders are offered a shorter MVV procedure. With this procedure, families can count on having a MVV for their candidate within 10 working days after Smiling Faces has solicited the request.
The VVR is linked directly to the MVV request, which means that the host family does not have to go to the IND to solicit it themselves. Within 1 month of the au pair’s arrival in the Netherlands the VVR will be ready. It saves the family time and work.

Your flex nanny, domestic workers from Australia, New Zealand or Canada can come to the Netherlands on a Working Holiday Visa. Candidates from the European Union do not need a visa to come to the Netherlands.
